Meet Harley

Meet Duke. He has been a part of our family since June 5, 2009. He was my birthday present last year. Duke has been so much fun and we love him so much. The only problem was he was lonely. While we are gone during the day, he would sit by the gate and whine for who knows how long. So we thought... What should we do to change that?

(Sorry this is the only picture I have of Duke not laying on his back)
Meet Harley. She has been a part of our family since May 11, 2010. Yep... Duke has a friend!

She loves her new home

And she loves her new friend Duke

Yep. It's true. We were crazy enough to get another dog. I felt like we were getting another kid. I asked Brock," Are we really ready for this? Can we really handle another one?" Well, ready or not we have her and we are so happy. She is the cutest thing and pretty much everything she does is cute. Except for when she almost pees in the house... which is why she never comes in haha. We had been considering another dog for quite awhile but after seeing my friend Chloe's adorable puppy, we had to have one for ourselves. I know my mom was hoping for a grand-baby but Harley will have to do for now. Sorry, Mom. :) She's definitely been fun but kinda stressful at the same time. Duke was about 3 months old when we got him so he was little but not really. She's like 8 weeks old. She's tough though cuz Duke will run full speed and totally mow her over. She yelps but she's totally fine... just a little surprised I'm sure. If anyone has good tips on potty training techniques for her I'd totally love to hear it. I'm planning on getting a kennel to put up to our doggy door and try that method. We definitely can't leave her in the house cuz even following her every move we've had close calls. She's fast I tell you.

Mexico

I left my husband for a week (he didn't notice I was gone) and went to my home away from home, San Carlos, Mexico. My grandpa has a house there and we've been going there for as long as I can remember. My mom grew up going there too. It is a very beautiful place and it is very dear to me. If I could live there for an entire summer, I totally would... I would live off tacos, tortillas, and limonadas and come back 100 pounds heavier but 100% happy. Anyways, here are some pictures from the trip. I went with my mom and my Aunt Michelle. Please excuse us... it is a rule you can't do your hair or wear makeup while in Mexico. We did nothing but eat and lay out every single day. And it was rad.

I was so excited to find this cup in my Grandpa's house. It holds not one, but two Diet Cokes!! Diet coke with lime and chocolate were the main food item in the house.

My mamacita and I enjoying our Diet Coke and the view

Oh yeah...

Some of the view from the top part of the house

The view directly from the back of the house

Getting ready to lay out by the pool

Went to a grub place called Bananas

Enjoying the limonada's (lemonade) at Bananas

Loving the big cups

This is the pool by the White Sands beach

White Sands beach. Our first day there I found a baby sand dollar. My first sand dollar ever!!

I was so excited this turned out good. It was a full moon every night and this was our view. I know... you're jealous

There were only three of us and this is our basket of goodies. Don't judge you know you're jealous.

This is another reason I love Mexico. Amazing street tacos!

Mom & I on our last day saying goodbye to Mexico

My mom is so pretty... people ask me if she's my sister

My wonderful Grandpa came and stayed with us our last two days of our trip and treated us to breakfast, lunch, & dinner. I love this man.

Sock It To Me

I don't really have anything to blog about. Ok, I lied. I just remembered something to blog about. Last week my baby brother was beat up pretty badly (long story) and had to have surgery on his jaw. He had to have it wired shut and it will stay that way for about 3-4 weeks. So when I heard about his incident it just broke my heart. He broke his jaw in two spots on the right side and had to have a metal plate put in. My mom sent me pics from her phone so sorry this isn't the best quality. This is him after surgery. Doesn't this make you so sad?

Poor kid. Back in 2006 he almost died in a horrid car accident and by the time he got out of the hospital he looked so skinny. So he went from this...

To this...
It's pretty amazing he's not a drooling vegetable. Anyway, so he got really skinny after his bad accident and how he has his jaw wired shut and will probably get really skinny again. I think that was hard for him to hear because he's already skinny but he works out and drinks lots of protein shakes to try and bulk up. Oh well... life's full of hard lessons. He is doing good though. He can talk but his right upper lip may or may not be permanently paralyzed. We're hoping it's temporary but we'll see. So other than that, I have nothing to blog about. We're almost done with the semester and Brock can't wait. For those of you who are wondering about his wrists, he's doing much better. Here are some pictures from way back. I never posted them sorry!

Brock just before surgery

Had to have the IV in his foot since they needed his arms for surgery

They marked both arms with "Yes" so they didn't give him a boob job or something crazy

Not happy after surgery

This is just one arm before stitches came out. His incisions look really good now. He has 9 screws in his left wrist and 8 screws in his right wrist. So yeah, that's about it! Not much of an update but better than nothing I guess. The weather is warming up fast and spring has pretty much come and gone. We already have our AC on so I can only imagine what our bills are going to be like haha. For those of you who are out of town, come visit before it gets freakishly hot!

Couldn't Help Myself

I came across this video from back in January & couldn't help myself. It was too good not to share. Don't worry it's PG (I got skills). Brock & I were in a really good mood. And yes... Brock knows I posted this. Poor guy.

Happy 29th Brother

Dear Garrett,
Happy 29th Birthday! I can't believe you would have been 29 years old. How I wonder what life would be like with you here. I also can't believe it's been nine years since you've been gone even though it feels like it was just yesterday. I love you, miss you like crazy, & think about you every day (we all do). I look forward to the day I see you again. I love you brother.

Love, Jes
