Welcome Adelaide!

She made it!! Adelaide Huffaker was born on March 29, 2011 at 2:33 am, weighing 7 lbs 9.5 oz, measuring 20 inches long! We are so happy and so blessed... everything went well and fast but she's healthy and we're so happy she's here!! More details to come!!

Good Times

So my last doctor's apppointment they informed me I was already at 3cm and 75% effaced. For those who have no clue what that is... it basically means I'm getting close to the whole labor thing. I was pretty excited because I expected to hear that nothing was happening. BUT, I also know I could stay like this for the next couple weeks. I think working really helps though... being on your feet for 12 hours will do that! My mom & I were joking around that I should buy a mini trampoline and just bounce around until she pops out haha. In other news, I had the opportunity to catch up with some old friends. My mom & I had dinner with my 5th grade teacher Ms. G and our good friend Kaylani. Now, some people might think it's weird to go to dinner with their 5th grade teacher (maybe it's because I'm small town) but not only was she my best teacher ever, my mom did her student teaching with Ms. G and she pretty much watched me grow up. While my mom did her student teaching, Kaylani was a teacher's aide for Ms. G so she became good friends with us too.

We had the best time and laughed all night. We talked a lot about the world today and how things have changed. This woman is seriously amazing. I remember she would run 5 miles every day rain or shine. If she didn't run, the next time was 10 miles to make up for it. The crazy thing is? She still runs!! I can't even walk up stairs without getting winded (pregnant or not!). Well folks, I'm down to 2 weeks! I really don't mind if this baby comes early... I'll keep you posted if she does!

Countdown

My sister in law Shalene made me feel bad for changing my background but not updating my blog. I told her it was because I have a boring life and nobody wants to hear about my pregnancy. Soooo.... this is for her. :) Shalene put together an awesome baby shower for me and we had a good turn out. Not only did Shalene put the shower together but she & others pitched in and got me a cute car seat/stroller combo!! She helped me put it together and I'm not going to lie... it kinda hit me that I was really going to have a baby. I know that sounds dumb but I guess I'm still in denial about having a baby haha. I had left the stroller in our family room and the next day I walked by it and went, "Who left their stroller here?" Then my brain finally realized it was mine & it was kind of a weird. Anyways, I got lots of great gifts at my shower... our baby girl is already spoiled! We (Brock) finally put together her crib and it hit me even more... I only have 3 1/2 weeks left! I finally posted some preggo pics even though they aren't the best & I felt super nerdy taking pictures of myself in the mirror. Oh well. Yesterday, Brock & I celebrated our 3 year anniversary! We went to Rito's for lunch, went to the Body Worlds Exhibit, saw Unknown at the movies, got haircuts together, and had dinner. Are we exciting or what? It's kinda hard being 8 months pregnant... not a whole lot I can do without getting very short of breath. Even eating can be difficult haha... good times. Well, that's all I have for now. Hopefully I'll get more baby shower pictures to post!
