Most Wonderful Time of the Year

This year has been hard to get into the Christmas spirit. We didn't get our tree up till last week. Usually Brock is good to be in Christmas spirit but even this year was hard for him. I can't believe how fast this year has flown. It made me realize I don't have very many pictures from this year which makes me sad. I know we did fun things I just wish I had more pictures to prove it. Even though it's been hard getting into the Christmas spirit this year, I have so much to be grateful for. I am so blessed and I know I take it for granted. I have a wonderful husband who keeps me on my toes and gets me out of my comfort zone (kicking and screaming of course), makes me laugh, and works so hard. He has finished another semester with all A's! I'm really proud of him. My pregnancy has been going so good I've been so blessed. I've felt great and the baby is healthy and quite the kicker! I hope everything continues to go smoothly with her because my job has really been stressful lately and there are days where I don't eat or drink anything for 12+ hours. I know awesome right? Apparently it doesn't matter that I'm pregnant. BUT, I have a job and I'm grateful for it. I have the greatest family and friends in the world and have been blessed beyond what I deserve. Pictures to come later... Merry Christmas everyone!

99% Positive

Well... it's 99% positive we're having a girl! When we heard it was a girl Brock & I looked at each other and we're like... Wait! I thought we were having a boy! We've had ourselves convinced it's a boy since everyone else in his family had a boy first. Not that we're not excited, but we've just had it in our heads we're having a boy and now it's a girl. So unless our baby is a late bloomer and grows some testicles, it's a girl. We've decided on Adelaide for the name but that could also change. We've got an active baby girl and everything looks good!

Birthday & Halloween

Today my niece Jayda is 8 years old. I can't believe how times flies! Seems like just yesterday she was born. I know, I sound old saying that but it's true. She is such a beautiful girl (always has been) and she makes me laugh. She is so smart and so spoiled... but that's what happens when you're the first grandchild on both sides. I love this crazy little girl so much!! Just wish we got to see her more often!

Jayda loves her Grandma Lori

On another note, here are pictures from Halloween (better late than never). We didn't really dress up but Brock decorated our house & it turned out so good! He had speakers set up outside so it would play scary sounds & music randomly, it was awesome. We only had a few trick or treaters come by on Sunday. At least we carved pumpkins with Shalene & Jim the week before Halloween so I guess that counts for not dressing up.

Our house during the day
The house at night... couldn't get a picture of the scary skeleton man cuz our strobe light wasn't working
Isn't this guy freaky?! Scared our dogs and one of our trick or treaters... poor kid wouldn't even come up to the door
Bet you can't guess who this is :)
Brock's pumpkin lit up

Sorry these pictures are blurry... my pumpkin has a frazzled look on it's face. Kinda like mine all the time

Words of Wisdom

Brock & I had the chance to swing up to good ol' Snowflake the past couple weeks and visit my family. He has a dog named Koby and we were on the back porch enjoying the weather and watching the dog run around with kids when the dog just stopped all of the sudden to lick himself. My dad turns to me all serious and says, "You know why they do that right?" And I said, " No, why?" His answer? "Because they can." Oh how I laughed. Definitely words of wisdom from my dad.

This Is For You Chloe

So my cool friend Chloe has blogged about times when she has worn her shirt inside out all day. Well Chloe, this is for you. I went all day at work yesterday without any bra. I didn't realize it until after I got home. I'm kinda embarrassed but at the same time sad that no one noticed. :)

Thank You

I want to thank everyone for their sweet comments on the news of our little jellybean/gummy bear/parasite (joking). I really have nothing else to say because my life is boring and I have a double chin. Oh... I will mention that we don't know if it's a boy yet (I think it is) & we have no names yet. Baby Jorgan is kind of a temporary name... One day Brock thought he was having a heart attack (I can't imagine why, we eat so good) and he said, "Tell Baby Jorgan I love him." He said it like he was dying and I was like... "Jorgan? Ew." Sooooo.... not really sure if I like the name but it has stuck for now cuz anytime we talk about the baby we call it Baby Jorgan. And that's my cool story.

Vaccines

I know this is a much debated subject and usually I don't really get involved but I came across an article today and I really need to get this off my chest. If I offend anyone, I'm really sorry but you have to understand this is coming from someone in the medical community. I see a lot of sick people. Granted, I don't work in pediatrics, but I have friends who do. I digress. The point of my story today is, I came across an article titled, "Whooping Cough Outbreak May Be Biggest in 55 Years". Why is this you ask? Many people are so terrified their kid is going to become autistic because of tainted vaccines. So many people are opting out of vaccinating their children. Is that their choice? Of course. Are there going to be consequences? Absolutely. Hence the name of the article. A while back at work, we had an older guy who had whooping cough. Who gets whooping cough when they are older?! Again, sorry if I offend anyone who doesn't vaccinate their kids. I just want people to think about the consequences of not vaccinating their kids. It may not be a big deal for a few years because most of the other kids are still getting vaccinated. However... in time, with more and more kids not getting protected from preventable diseases, we're going to see outbreaks of polio, measles, mumps, rubella, etc. People in healthcare haven't seen a case of these diseases in a long time. We probably wouldn't even know how to treat them because that's why we get our immunizations. I understand there is fear (thanks to media and celebrities who know everything) but think of the big picture. Honestly, there is no evidence linking autism to vaccines. I'm not going to cite my references but if you really want it... I'll give it you. Again, this is a personal choice, I just had to get this off my chest.

Fall

Fall is in the air. I can feel it. And I... am... super... excited! Fall is my favorite season. I wish I lived back east where the leaves change and fall is totally rad and it actually feels like we're changing seasons instead of just going from hot to less hot. I always wished I could live someplace like this:

And I would drive down this road to get there
Inside my house I would be crafty and decorate my house with things like this:
Or this
And this
A girl can dream right? If I had tons of money, pretty sure it would all go towards fall decor. I love the mornings in the fall... the air is crisp, cool, and clean. I always imagine myself in my cozy house next to a fireplace drinking hot chocolate and reading a book. And, it would always be fall. Again, a girl can dream.

Huffaker Reunion 2010

Ok, on top of posting pictures from our awesome trip to Lake George, NY I'm also adding a link to my in-laws Kirk & Bonnie because they put together the most awesome slide show & video of our trip on their blog. You can see their hard work here. We went tubing down the Hudson River with our crazy tour guide one of the first days there. Kirk & Bonnie's oldest Jack was baptized so we all got to be there for that. Then it was off to the lake house! There was lots of good food, fun, kayaking, swimming, and cliff jumping.

Sleeping on the Philly airport floor while Brock was "asleep"
Yeah, he wasn't sleeping & surprised me right before I took the picture
On our way to dinner by the lake
This is a bad picture but I like our background
The view down Kirk & Bonnie's road. So jealous!
The lake house!!!
Ok... Why do I live in Arizona?
My buddy Max chillin' with his dad
The whole family on Pirate Day. What a crazy bunch!!
This is a monument to Joseph Smith at his birthplace in Sharon, Vermont. For those who don't know the story of how they got this solid piece of granite to where it is now, check it out because it's amazing!

The nice sister missionary gave some of the family a ride while the rest of us watched a movie about Joseph Smith
I love this picture!
Believe it or not but the kid on the left is older than the kid on the right. Crazy!

So pretty

Good times
I know this has nothing to do with New York but I couldn't resist putting this picture of Harley on here. Doesn't she look so smart?!
Another picture unrelated to New York. Our backyard finally has grass!! Hurray!

So... there you have it. Not the best pictures but it's what I have. Kirk & Bonnie... thank you again SO much for being wonderful hosts and treating us to a week of fun. You guys are the best!! Can't wait to do it again...

Annoying

Can anyone tell me why there is a annoying notice saying "This image or video has been moved or deleted.- Photobucket"? How do I get rid of it? Is it because I have Bouncing Baby Bieber videos on my blog? I don't notice any missing pictures or videos. I'm confused....

Whatever

Ok, I'm just posting something cuz it's been too long and I'm tired of looking at Justin Bieber. Life is good. We just got back from a trip to New York with the family and it was so fun. Pictures to come. We got back and our back yard has grass and our dogs are so big!! Well, Harley is anyways. Again, pictures will come. I actually have time to this week to mess around with the blog a bit. The weather has been pretty hot & humid. It wouldn't be so bad if we had a pool... but we don't so I have to deal with it. Brock is going to start school again soon and he's dreading it. I don't blame him but only one more year to go! I'm done with school in November and can't wait. I'm so done. But I also said that after nursing school and I went back for my bachelor's right away. Oh well. So this is it for now. More to come later!

Never Gets Old

I know most of my family has seen these videos but they're just too good and I have to show them to everyone. This first video is the original video for Sean Kingston and Justin Bieber singing Eenie Meenie. Watch this first because it makes the second video even more hilarious.

Never Gets Old Part 2

Sorry I'm retarded and have to do this in two separate posts but at least you get to see the videos. Watch the other video before this one because it's more funny that way.

Jackpot

Can I just say, I hit the jackpot when I married Brock. Ever since Brock broke his wrists he's been focusing on school and hasn't had a job. Which is totally fine because I want him to focus on school. Well school got out and he wanted to get a job. I pretty much talked him about of it because really? Who is going to hire you for 3 months? Then you've got school again so... just enjoy the summer because you have the rest of your life to work. Am I right? Of course I am. Well... having him stay home has been the best thing. So much stuff has been done around the house. It's awesome. I'll mention something that needs to be done and voila! It's done without me even asking! How rad is that? He's such a sweetheart and I told him when we have kids he can stay home and be Mr. Mom. Anyways, I just had to brag about how good my husband treats me. It's rare so I have to brag when I can. Haha totally kidding.

It's My Birfday

This is totally late and I should have pictures with it but.... I don't. I will later though. I just wanted to write about my birthday over the weekend. I turned 24 years old!! My mom told me..."Wow, you're getting old!" I had to laugh. I love my mom. Anyways, it was a great birthday and I have an amazing husband who listened to all my subtle hints (Honey, I want new scrubs and an exercise ball). I actually started the celebration on Thursday. I worked but Brock told me I couldn't go home because there was a present that needed to be hid. Since I love getting presents and surprises, I was a good girl and didn't drive straight home. We hung out at our friend's house for a bit then went home. After we pulled into the garage, I looked at Brock kinda like "I'm going in the house now are you going to stop me" and waited for him to say something but he just smiled at me so I went in the house and I saw my awesome present!! After he heard me scream like a little girl he realized he forgot about the present haha. Oh well. Then on Friday my mom took us out to lunch at Casa Reynoso which is the similar to our favorite restaurant LaCasita in Show Low. Then she came over to our house and I got more presents!! After she left my dad came down and brought me another present (even if he doesn't count it as my present). Friday night Brock took me scrub shopping as part of his present but when we got to the mall we had no luck... it's a long story I'll explain more when the pictures come. On Saturday, which was my actual birthday, I slept in as long as I wanted. Oh wait, I do that anyway. We went over to Shalene's house and swam for like an hour then we got ready to eat at Oregano's (sooo good!). I had another fantastic surprise once I got to Oregano's with more presents there (more details later)! I had the best birthday even though I kinda had a cold going on. Who gets a cold in June on their birthday? Apparently, me. I go all winter without catching anything and then it shows up on my birthday. Oh well. Brock was a sport even though I wasn't too fun to be around the whole weekend and had snot running uncontrollably out one nostril for a good portion of it, he still made it amazing for me. I am the luckiest girl. I have a great husband, an amazing family (that includes the in-laws) and so much to be thankful for. I promise pictures and details will come later!!

Meet Harley

Meet Duke. He has been a part of our family since June 5, 2009. He was my birthday present last year. Duke has been so much fun and we love him so much. The only problem was he was lonely. While we are gone during the day, he would sit by the gate and whine for who knows how long. So we thought... What should we do to change that?

(Sorry this is the only picture I have of Duke not laying on his back)
Meet Harley. She has been a part of our family since May 11, 2010. Yep... Duke has a friend!

She loves her new home

And she loves her new friend Duke

Yep. It's true. We were crazy enough to get another dog. I felt like we were getting another kid. I asked Brock," Are we really ready for this? Can we really handle another one?" Well, ready or not we have her and we are so happy. She is the cutest thing and pretty much everything she does is cute. Except for when she almost pees in the house... which is why she never comes in haha. We had been considering another dog for quite awhile but after seeing my friend Chloe's adorable puppy, we had to have one for ourselves. I know my mom was hoping for a grand-baby but Harley will have to do for now. Sorry, Mom. :) She's definitely been fun but kinda stressful at the same time. Duke was about 3 months old when we got him so he was little but not really. She's like 8 weeks old. She's tough though cuz Duke will run full speed and totally mow her over. She yelps but she's totally fine... just a little surprised I'm sure. If anyone has good tips on potty training techniques for her I'd totally love to hear it. I'm planning on getting a kennel to put up to our doggy door and try that method. We definitely can't leave her in the house cuz even following her every move we've had close calls. She's fast I tell you.

Mexico

I left my husband for a week (he didn't notice I was gone) and went to my home away from home, San Carlos, Mexico. My grandpa has a house there and we've been going there for as long as I can remember. My mom grew up going there too. It is a very beautiful place and it is very dear to me. If I could live there for an entire summer, I totally would... I would live off tacos, tortillas, and limonadas and come back 100 pounds heavier but 100% happy. Anyways, here are some pictures from the trip. I went with my mom and my Aunt Michelle. Please excuse us... it is a rule you can't do your hair or wear makeup while in Mexico. We did nothing but eat and lay out every single day. And it was rad.

I was so excited to find this cup in my Grandpa's house. It holds not one, but two Diet Cokes!! Diet coke with lime and chocolate were the main food item in the house.

My mamacita and I enjoying our Diet Coke and the view

Oh yeah...

Some of the view from the top part of the house

The view directly from the back of the house

Getting ready to lay out by the pool

Went to a grub place called Bananas

Enjoying the limonada's (lemonade) at Bananas

Loving the big cups

This is the pool by the White Sands beach

White Sands beach. Our first day there I found a baby sand dollar. My first sand dollar ever!!

I was so excited this turned out good. It was a full moon every night and this was our view. I know... you're jealous

There were only three of us and this is our basket of goodies. Don't judge you know you're jealous.

This is another reason I love Mexico. Amazing street tacos!

Mom & I on our last day saying goodbye to Mexico

My mom is so pretty... people ask me if she's my sister

My wonderful Grandpa came and stayed with us our last two days of our trip and treated us to breakfast, lunch, & dinner. I love this man.
